Breast lift, also known as mastopection, is a surgical procedure aimed at women who have a problem with accepting changes in the appearance of their breasts. There are many factors for this state of affairs, we can list among them: pregnancy, breastfeeding, weight loss or the negative effects of the passing time. Breast lifting is a procedure that can be performed by all adult women who are dissatisfied with the appearance of their breasts. This procedure is an effective way to achieve the effect of a raised bust.

Due to several reasons woman's breast can have changes in shape and looses it’s firmness. These changes and loss of skin elasticity can result from reasons like this:

  • Pregnancy and breast feeding

  • Weight changes

  • Aging

  • Gravity

  • Genetics

Who can be a good candidate for this operation:

  • If you are physically healthy

  • If you are not a smoker

  • If you think that your breasts sag or have lost shape and volume

  • If your nipples fall below the breast crease

  • If your nipples and areolas point downward

  • You have stretched skin and enlarged areolas

The main goal of mastopexy is to shape the breasts in such a way that they become firm and elevated again. During the operation, the shape of the breast changes and excess skin is removed. In some cases, it is also possible to reduce the size of the areola. Very often breast lifting is combined with breast augmentation with the use of implants. Mastopexy is performed under general anesthesia and lasts approximately 3 hours.

A preliminary consultation will be done from your pictures and medical background. Then upon request we can organize an online consultation for you before you arrive. Once you are here you will have your consultation with the doctor. During your consultation you can get answers to all your questions. We are never in a hurry and listen to all your questions and doubts.

In the breast lift consultation you should discuss:

  • What result should be achieved

  • If you have any medical condition, drug allergies and medical treatments

  • If you use any medications, vitamins, herbal supplements, alcohol, tobacco or drugs

  • The surgeries you had in the past

  • If you have a family history of breast cancer

Your surgeon may also:

  • Take your photographs

  • Discuss what options you have

  • Recommend a course of treatment

  • Discuss likely outcomes of breast lift surgery and any risks or potential complications

  • Discuss the use of anesthesia during your breast lift.

Before the operation we will ask you to bring a breast ultrasound, if you can’t do it before your arrival to Istanbul please let us know, this way we will fix a breast ultrasound appointment here. We will ask you to not to take vitamins or herbal medication in the last month before the operation. Other information regarding the medication usage will be given you by your health consultant. Since after the operation we will ask you not to carry heavy loads we will ask you not to travel with a heavy luggage. After breast operation it is more comfortable to wear clothes from buttons or zippers from the front side.

The operation consists in five phases. The beginning phase is the anesthesia, your operation will be performed in general anesthesia. Then the second phase is the incision, in this operation there will be an incision around the areola, vertically down the areola and a horizontal incision in the breast fold. This way doctor will reshape the breast and reposition the areola. The next step is to close the incision. This leads us to the final phase which is seeing the results. Breast lift is an operation that gives the results immediately.

After the operation, the patient is transported from the operating room to the room wearing a special forming bra. It is recommended to wear it for a minimum of 4 to 6 weeks after surgery. Its task is to stabilize the implants in the correct position and support the shaping of the breast. More intense exercise is recommended after 4 weeks.

Once you contact us we will ask for your pictures and information regarding your medical background. After discussing with the doctor what operation will suit you the most we will prepare your personalized offer. We will find an available date for you and help you through all the booking procedure. Please feel free to contact us.
